You Make the Grade, FTL249

Hi friends. I am so glad that I was able to do a card for you today. It's been a very long summer. Can you believe next week will be our 250th sketch! That's a lot of sketches to refer back to just in case you find yourself needing a great sketch on the go!

Today's card was really easy and fun to make. Instead of reaching for my usual Stamper's Select White, I went for grid paper this time since my card has a school theme to it and it reminded me of notebook paper. It's just the little details that can enhance your card to much and make a big difference.

My "grounding shelf" that the books are sitting on is a word bubble stamp from Paper Smooches (Shadows). I flipped it upside down and covered the small corner that leads into the word bubble. Worked perfectly!

I think this is just the most adorable card for a girl to tuck away in her lunchbox for the first day of school. You can simply change the colors out to make it more of a masculine card.

Unfortunately, the pictures do not do this card justice. I really need to find my light box and get it set up.

Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today and God bless you!

247!

Good morning!

Here is this week's sketch.

Some dimensions:
  • Card: 4-1/4x5-1/2
  • Main Image Panel: 3x5-1/2
  • Mat: 3-1/8x5-1/2
  • Accent piece- variable- I used my washi tape as a guide and then kind of centered it on there and trimmed it to wherever looked best.

I went with really bright colours for mine. I wanted to use this Doodlebug Designs rainbow polka-dotted washi tape, so I used that to help pick out my ink and paper colour choices.

I stamped and coloured the cupcakes and then fussy cut them out. I pieced the card together and then the final step was to add the Stickles. I have a bad habit of adding the Stickles to cut out objects before adhering them to a card. I got smart and did it last for once!

Supplies:
Stamps: Sweets & Treats, Sweets & Treats Fillers, Fresh Baked (Wplus9 Designs)
Ink: Raspberry Fizz, Limeade Ice, Tempting Turquoise, Tuxedo Black
Paper: White, Limeade Ice, Raspberry Fizz, Tempting Turquoise
Accessories, etc.: Washi Tape (Doodlebug Designs), Stickles, dimensional tape, Copics

246!

Happy Friday and Happy Summer!!

I hope you're ready for a sketch. This one was inspired from the most recent Stampin' Up! catalog. I liked the simplicity of the one image with the repeated sentiment in the background.

Here's my take on it. I thought some heart shaped flowers would be fun!

Supplies:
Stamps: Heartfelt Mix, (WP9), Beautiful Bloom II, Faux Ribbon (PTI)
Ink: Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst, Simply Chartreuse, Hawaiian Shores
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Raspberry Fizz, White
Accessories, etc.: Hearts & Clouds Die (WP9)
