FTL 43

Hello! Happy Friday! Here's this week's sketch. I figured it was time for a square card again. I wanted something ultra simple, but more than a single layer. This is what I came up with: The dimensions I used:
Spring Moss strip: 3-7/8x1/2
Ripe Avocado dotted strip: 3-1/8x7/8
Dark Chocolate strip: 3-1/2x3/8
Circles: Approximately 1-7/8 diameter and 2-1/8 diameter
Card Size: 4-1/4x4-1/4
The card is quite simple. I stamped and cut out the tree, then arranged the papers as I had sketched out, and added a greeting.
Supplies:
Stamps: Trendy Trees, Birthday Basics
Ink: Ripe Avocado, Dark Chocolate
Paper: Vintage Cream, Ripe Avocado, Spring Moss, Dark Chocolate, Bitty Dots (Avocado), Kraft
Accessories, etc.: pop dots, circle nestabilities
As always, feel free to leave a link to your card in the comments!

Just Because

I missed out on the FTL#41 last week so when I was doing the SCS color challenge for this week I used FTL41 for the sketch. Using pre determined colors and sketch sure does make for a quick card! The colors were Only Orange, Purely Pomegranate (Rose Red) and Brilliant Blue. I also used the stamp set that was out from yesterday's 10 Minute Monday card! Supplies: Stamps - PaperTrey Flower Garden, Shapes by Design (sentiment); Ink - SU! Only Orange, Rose Red, Brilliant Blue; Paper - PaperTrey Stampers Select, Bazzill; Misc - Ribbon, dimensionals

Ten Minute Monday 05/18/09

Happy Victoria Day to my fellow Canadians! Because of the holiday, I completely forgot that today was Monday, I'm still on weekend mode. Never fear, I have a few cards to share. I've been having fun making patterned papers with the Guidelines stamp set from Papertrey Ink. If you decide on the specific images and colours before hand, a background can come together very quickly. I like to stamp a larger piece, then use it on a few cards. The colour palette on the first group of cards was inspired by Niki Estes. For the second group of cards, I wanted something that definitely said feminine, as cliched as that is, I went with pinks.

Supplies: Stamps: Guidelines 1, Simple Stationery Ink: Raspberry Fizz, Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet, Hibiscus Burst, Fresh Snow, Aqua Mist, Summer Sunrise, Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides, Pure Poppy Cardstock: White, Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst, Dark Chocolate, Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides Accessories, etc.: Buttons, pop dots

Ten Minute Monday

The SCS CAS challenge for this week was to make a card using white and black and a splash of a Bold Bright color. I love black and white with a splash of almost any other color. So I actually made a set of 4 note cards using a different color for each one. Here I used Brilliant Blue and Real Red. I stamped the flower from PaperTrey Flower Garden in Versafine Onyx Black and colored the center in with a SU! marker. I used the marker to color the sentiment stamp, also from Flower Garden, and finished each card off with a ribbon in the same color. Supplies: Stamps - PaperTrey; Ink - Versafine Onyx Black; Paper - PaperTrey Stampers Select; Misc - SU! markers, Ribbon
