Fall to Layout 36- Take Two

Happy Sunday!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far!

Here's this week's sketch.

Measurements I used:
Card Base: 4.25 x.5.5
Background Strip: 1-1/4 x 5.5
Background Strip Mat:1-3/8 x 5.5
Main Panel:  2.75 x 3.75
Main Panel Mat: 2-7/8 x 3-7/8

It was getting a bit late last night and I wasn't feeling super inspired after a day of teaching/running a card class. However, I went to my craft room, got stuff put away from the event and then sat down to create. I found this bit of splattered background in my scraps and thought I'd use that as a spring board. I decided to go with stars. I added a bit of silver to the background then stamped and embossed three stars from Super Stars. I also used stamps from this set to jazz up the Dark Indigo background strip. Finally I added a sentiment from Star Prints (retired).

Supplies:
Stamps: Super Stars, Star Prints
Ink: Versamark, Dark Indigo, Distress Oxide-Salty Ocean, Silver Reinker
Paper: White, Pacific Point, Dark Indigo, Silver
Accessories, etc.: Silver embossing powder

Now for Chera's card!

Happy Sunday everyone! Here's my take on today's card! It actually doesn't involve any stamping! I was digging through my paper stash and found this paper. I'm thinking it's from an older Simon Says Stamp card kit! I didn't want to cover up the design on the paper so I pulled out this Lil' Inkers die! So if you're looking for a 10 minute or less card this ones for you! I look forward to see what you create!!

Fall to Layout #35- Take Two

Happy Weekend everyone!

Here's this week's sketch:

I've got a wedding card inspired by fall colours today. I really love using the platinum embossing powder for outlines and watercolouring detailed images with Distress Inks. We're taking things a bit outside the standard A5 card. I made my card 3.5 x 6.5. This card size is ideal for a wedding card in case you are deciding to include cash or a cheque inside.

Supplies:
Stamps: Adore You (Altenew), Keep It Simple: Wedding (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Versamark, Distress Inks
Dies: Long Rectangle and Long Scallop Rectangle Nestabilities
Accessories, etc.: Platinum embossing powder

Fall to Layout #34 Take Two

Hello!

Here's this week's sketch. The old version of #34 was a little lackluster, so I updated the sketch to better match what I meant to convey with this design.

Some dimensions
Patterned Paper- 3.75x4.75
Rectangle Frame layer: 2.5x3.5
Square: 2x2

For my sketch, I decided to start with some patterned paper and see where that took me. I have no idea what company makes this paper, but it's from an old Simon Says Stamp monthly kit.  I paired that with a Vintage Cream card base and some Baja Breeze card stock. I stamped a flower from Concord and Ninth's Wildflower set and coloured that with Copic markers. The sentiment comes from Papertrey Ink's Butterfly Hope.

To finish it off, I added a little bit of Pool Party ribbon and I added a row of pierced holes and rounded the corners of the card base.

Here's Chera's card:

Hello crafty friends! Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!! Here's my take on this week's sketch card! I kept this card super clean and simple with the white on white! I double stamped the Mondo Mangolia (essentials by ellen) with versamark ink on watercolour paper, then heat embossed it in liquid platinum embossing poweder. Once that was done I got out abandoned coral oxide ink for the watercolouring of the flower. Its nothing fancy just did a super quick job of it! I then used the coordinating die to cut the flower out. Stamped the Hello in versamark as well using the liquid platinum to heat emboss then stamped sending you hugs on some vellum to make the ribbon embellishment aspect! Hope you enjoy today's card! I look forward to seeing what you create!

Fall to Layout #33 Take Two

Happy Sunday!

I hope your September is going well so far! It's been a mix of hot days and cool nights here, so I've been kind of feeling "fall", but still not ready to say good bye to summer just yet.

Here's this week's sketch:

I decided to pull out Gran's Garden (PTI) and just used that for the trio floral element. I stamped the flowers only at first, but it felt empty so I made a few masks and added the leaves. I added a birthday greeting from the Ways to Say It: Birthday. I made my own stamped pattern paper for the bottom portion. Finally I added a ribbon (old Stampin' Up! one)

Here are Chera's cards. She made two this week:

Happy Sunday everyone!!! Today I had a couple of card ideas rolling around in my brain so I thought I’d make them both for you!!  Figured with fall just around the corner I'd pull out some Wplus9 leaves and some pretty fall ink colours (papertrey ink)! And the second card was the first idea that came to my mind!! It's an oldie Papertrey ink stamp set (cutting garden) that has been in my pile to use again!! Went with some classic colours, I had a wedding card in mind but the sentiment (from simon says stamp) works well for other cards as well!! Hope you all have a great day! I look forward to seeing what you create!

Fall to Layout #32 Take Two

Happy Sunday (a long weekend Sunday to boot!) Here's this week's sketch. Although the sketch is square, feel free to stretch it out like I did. Instead of a circle on a square card, I did an oval on a rectangle card. Same basic layout applies.

Here's my card. I made this for Ashley's leather challenge for Stamp-A-Faire last weekend. I didn't post it in the challenge links, as I was a presenter this year and didn't think I should play for prizes. But that didn't stop me from playing along!!

The basic leather technique was to use water and glycerin to give the paper more flexibility. I didn't know where my glycerin was (although I found it today, ha!), so I used a tiny bit of Versamark reinker. I think it achieved a similar effect. Be sure to check out her video for the details on this technique.

I used a piece of Dark Chocolate card stock and completed the leather technique. Once that was dry, I sponged some Dark Chocolate Ink on it. I die-cut it with the stitched oval die from the Shakers and Sprinkles kit. Next I die cut two of the Meadow Greens leaves and stamped the corresponding leaves using Ripe Avocado and Prairie Grass. I made a little banner and stamped a sentiment from the Ways to Say: Thank You mini set. The final touch was stamping leaves in Classic Kraft on the Kraft card base. I also added rounded corners, just because!

Here's Chera's card:

Happy Long weekend Sunday everyone!! Here's my take on today's Sketch cards! Sad to not be crafting with my gals this weekend like I was last!!! Today's card is featuring a lot of Wplus9 goodies including ink colours and the circle die is from Simon Says stamp! I first cut a circle from the front of my card base then used that same smaller circle with a later circle to give the five that kraft border around. My next step was stamping the flowers and leaves out. I wasn’t originally to sure which ones I wanted to use so there were many extra stamped flowers….maybe another project on the horizon!!! I stamped the sentiment inside of the card added the flowers and done! Oh for some added shine I added some water droplets to the flower centres!! Hope you enjoy today's card!!!
