In order to redeem myself from last week's disaster, I thought that I'd put a fun spin on this week's sketch challenge. Instead of using scallops, I used a Filigree Border that really put an elegant touch to this card. It was a very fun surprise to find out that while picking my lamp shade, the filigree design was incorporated into that, so of course I used it. I cut four full lengths of the Filigree border and added a 1/8" piece of Scor-Tape to the bottom of each. While working from the right side of the card to the left putting down my borders, I staggered them as Natasha suggested so that every other border was aligned to get the full effect of the pattern. I then spritzed the card with a mist or two of glimmer mist to tie the image (light/shine) in. I die-cut my images and sentiment, and then stamped them. The final step was adhering them to the card with foam dots.

I hope that you like this card and that it provides you with some inspiration. Enjoy!

FTL184 You Color My World

Here is my take on FTL184.  I used the colors from the CQC130.  I used an EKSuccess Border punch and an MS Butterfly punch.  I hand cut the banner for the sentiment.
Supplies: Stamps - PaperTrey (sentiment); Paper - PaperTrey, Mark's Finest Papers; Ink - Memento; Misc - EKSuccess Border Punch, MS Butterfly Punch, Pearls

184!

Good morning. Here's this week's sketch. I realize it's a bit busier than usually, but I'm hoping you're up for the challenge! The main tip I have for the sketch, is be sure to stagger the scallops. If they are overlapped exactly, it just doesn't look quite right

Here's my card:

I wanted something colourful, with bright, fresh spring colours!

Supplies:

  • Stamps: It's a Jungle Out There
  • Ink: Fresh Snow
  • Paper: White, Simply Chartreuse, Berry Sorbet, Pool Party, Summer Sunrise, Dark Chocolate
  • Accessories, etc.: Harvest Gold felt, button, flower die

As always, feel free to leave a link to your project!

FTL183 Masculine Golf Card

Hi everybody. I made this very cool masculine golf card with great papers that was CAS with no white! Then I stamped my images and flipped. They were brand new and since January, I've been having a problem with my images picking up ink where it shouldn't be picking up so I have a manufacturer's defect on my hands. That is creative frustration! After I made this card, I didn't have time to start all over again but might add another card later this week to try to redeem myself for this one. Please overlook the blahs, which seem to be the entire card, down to fussy cutting out the golf bag. Let's look on the positive, there's great DP and I used Soft Stone for my neutral. If everything worked out the right way, this would have been a very cool masculine card :)

My ingredients are all Papertrey Ink using their On the Links stamp set with Soft Stone and Smokey Shadow card stock and my designer paper is Argyle Socks. The inks I used were Dark Chocolate, Enchanted Evening, and Smokey Shadow. Try to enjoy this and I will see you later with a nice card.
