When I saw the rectangular panel in Natasha's sketch I immediately thought of the house from PTI's Boards and Beams and the Holiday Addition set. I also just got some new Cuttlebug Border embossing folders that I thought I'd use instead of patterned paper. My sentiment is a little high for this sketch but I think it works okay. I cut out the image with my long rectangle Nestabilities and attached it to the card with SU! Dimensionals. Supplies: Stamps - PaperTrey Boards and Beams, Boards and Beams Additions; Ink - Memento Rich Cocoa; Paper - PaperTrey Stampers Select; Misc - Copic markers, SU! markers, Nestabilities, SU! Dimensionals, Cuttlebug Border embossing folders, Scor-pal

Happy Halloween Eve! One would think I'd have a Halloween card with the sketch tonight, but I don't. It's extra windy and chilly here tonight, so a wintery card seems more appropriate. Not that I really want it to snow (again) just yet, but the weather certainly feels that way!
As always, feel free to leave a link showing your awesome creations! I have to apologize in advance I have a huge stack of links to check out, I haven't had time the last weeks to comment. I will get to them though! Supplies: Stamps: It's a Snow Day by Chicken Girl Designs Ink: Paris Dusk, Summer Sky (Memento) Paper: Spring Rain, Brilliant Blue, White, Shimmer Blue Accessories, etc.: pop dots, Copics

FTL65 - Thank You

Hi everyone! Hope you've been having a great day. :) This is the card I created using the Fall-to Layout 65 Sketch posted last Friday.

I started with a Melon Berry base and stamped it with one of the Giga Guidelines images in white ink. Next, I cut out a 1 1/2 x 4 1/4" strip of white card stock and layered it onto two strips of brown card stock that had been punched with my Fiskars Upper Crest Punch. To finish up, I added some ribbon around the white strip, attached it to the card base, punched and layered the sentiment, then added stickles. Whew, that was wordy. :)

Stamps - Giga Guidelines, Fall Elegance

Ink - Fresh Snow, Melon Berry

Paper - Melon Berry, Dark Chocolate, Stamper's Select White

Miscellaneous - Melon Berry Grosgrain Ribbon, Small Oval Punch, Large Oval, Fiskars Upper Crest Punch, Stickles

Snowy Greetings

Here's my card for this week's sketch! I used the adorable penguin from It's a Snow Day as my sentiment embellishment shown in the sketch. My background was made by running shimmery blue paper through the Wizard with Impressabilities Snowflake background. I finished off the card with a scalloped border and a bit of stickles on the penguin's hat and scarf.

FTL64 - Thankful for You

Happy Sunday! Hope you've been having a wonderful weekend! :)

This is the card I created based off of the Fall-to Layout #64 sketch that Natasha posted on Friday. I stayed pretty true to the sketch, and tried to use more Fall-ish colors this week. I don't know what it is, but I find Fall colors harder to work with... LOL, it's probably because I always want to stick pink in there somewhere! :) Supplies: Stamps - Fall Elegance; Ink - Orange Zest, Stazon Brown; Paper - Old Olive, Aqua Mist, Orange Zest, Stamper's Select White, Dark Chocolate Bitty Dot; Miscellaneous - 2" Circle Punch, Spring Moss Grosgrain Ribbon

This week's sketch is similar to some I've done in the past, but I thought it'd be good to share anyway! If you're wanting some measurements: The outer main panel is 3-3/8x4-7/8. I thought this would be another fun layout for using up some of that patterned paper. It's become somewhat of a goal of mine, using it up! Supplies: Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Vintage Picnic Ink:Rich Cocoa Paper: White, Bermuda Bay, Thoroughly Modern Accessories, etc.: brad, tag die cut, ribbon, copics

10 Minute Monday on Tuesday

I created this card for the SCS color challenge today and for a class assignment in the Great Card Design Class that I am taking online with Julie Ebersole. I had saved the negative cut from my Cuttlebug Buttrfly die cut so I used that as a mask. I sponged on Taken with Teal and Apricot Appeal and then stamped the silhouettes with Chocolate Chip. The sentiment is from Verve's Abundant Blessings as is the cattail silhouette. The dragonfly is from PaperTrey's Pond Life. Supplies: Stamps - PaperTrey, Verve; Ink - SU! Taken with Teal, Apricot Appeal, Chocolate Chip; Paper - PaperTrey; Misc - sponge, mask

FTL 63

Today's sketch was inspired by a card I made over a year ago. It somehow resurfaced earlier this week, and I thought "hmm, I like that design". I know the card was made for a Kristina Werner Colour Challenge, I don't recall if I ever posted it to this blog.

Here's my card: Very basic! Feel free to use more of that hoarded designer paper or to stamp out your own pattern! If you happen to use this stamp set, remember it's usually easier to stamp the solid image first and go over top with the detailed outline! I was reminded of that as I pieced together a few more of this card design the other night!

Supplies: Stamps: Garden of Life, Birthday Basics Ink: So Saffron, Old Olive, Bravo Burgundy, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip Paper: So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Old Olive Accessories, etc.: Tag die cut, brad

FTL62 - Hello, Sunshine

Happy World Card Making Day! Hope your day has been a fun one! This is what I came up with using the most recent Fall-to Layout Sketch. I scalloped a strip of Aqua Mist CS with my Fiskars Embossed Curve Punch after stamping it with Versamark ink polka dots. To finish up, I added some ribbon, stamped and punched out the sentiment, then added a couple rhinestones.

Stamps - Handwritten Notes, Polka Dot Basics 2

Ink - Versamark, Smokey Shadow

Paper - Aqua Mist, Vintage Cream, My Mind's Eye Ooh La La

Miscellaneous - Summer Sunrise Grosgrain Ribbon, Modern Label Punch, Light Aqua Rhinestones, Fiskars Embossed Curve Punch

Fall to Layout #62 Merry Christmas

Here is my sample for the FTL62 sketch. I used patterned papers from Making Memories Fa La La 8x8 pad. The ribbon is from American Crafts and the button is from PaperTrey. The sentiment is a Melissa Frances rub on. This is a very quick card to make! Supplies: Paper - PaperTrey Vintage Cream CS, Making Memories Fa La La; Misc - Melissa Frances Rub-on, American Crafts ribbon, paperTrey button, EK Success Border Punch

Fall-to Layout 62

**By the way, the punch used to make the large scallops is called Embossed Scallops, it's by EK Success. I got mine at Michaels** I am actually organized this week and typing this Thursday night. I don't know why, but last week I was just short on time. I'm still in pretty much the same boat this week, but I have a cold, so I'm not doing anything else. Seems like a good time for card making right! And I intend to do a whole lot more this weekend. I have a list to make 16 birthday cards and a few upcoming DT projects.
Anyway, on to the sketch! This one was taken from my little book o'sketches. I'm thinking it was inspired by a Dawn McVey original, but I'm not certain.
I wanted showcase some of this fun holiday paper. I adhered the patterned paper to my card base, scalloped a bit of textured red paper, added a sentiment, and a bit of gold ribbon. Very quick and fun!
