Fall-To Layout #24

It's time for another sketch. Once again I took the "easy" way out. I designed a card and drew the sketch accordingly. As usual, it's a pretty easy sketch to follow. Remember, I'm all about proportions. It doesn't really matter how big your central panel is, just make it proportional to the card front. I think I made mine 3.75x5. Even a bit smaller would look nice, probably all the way down to 3.25x4.5 Smaller than that and you start to lose too much of your canvas. The circle image on the sketch can really be anything. I went with this delightful sailboat from PTI's Men of Life. The stripe could be paper or ribbon. The bottom part is meant to be some form of patterned paper- whether that's stamped, like mine, or printed, is up to you!
Supplies:
Stamps: Men of Life, Birthday Basics, Polka Dot Basics,
Ink:Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate, Fresh Snow
Paper: Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy, White
Accessories: Ribbon
I enjoyed seeing all the cards last week! If you play, please leave a link again in the comments!

Embrace Realistic Flowers

There are loads of floral products out there for crafters. I figured I'd just focus on one genre this week- realistic flowers. My card features Flower Soft. It's a fine, soft, colourful product that you can apply directly to your project like glitter or flocking. You can also build your own flowers using wire and glue. I'm sure there are more possibilities, those are the two main uses I've seen so far. Supplies: Stamps: Large Silhouette Flowers- Lupines, Bird Words, Harlequin BG Ink: Raspberry Fizz, Ripe Avocado, Perfect Plum Paper: Raspberry, Avocado, Perfect Plum, White Accessories, etc.: Flower Soft (Heather), White Satin

Ten Minute Monday

Here's a quick card for you. I went with a super easy layout (the tri-square, central sentiment). I really like the nautical feel of light blue and red together that I had seen on other samples with this set, so I went with that. Supplies: Stamps: Men of Life Ink: Spring Rain, Pure Poppy Paper: White, Pure Poppy, Spring Rain

Welcome Back (and a FTL!)

I figured I'd start the new year with a clean and simple sketch. I have to say this was one of those cases where I made the card, then designed a sketch around it. Sometimes it just works out better that way! The sketch was originally inspired by Krystie Hersch. She's a fabulous CAS girl and fellow DD alumni. I modified the sketch somewhat, but I think it's clear where the inspiration came from.

Here's my card:. I had just received the newest PTI release and was itching to use those delightful patterned hearts. Clearly I was also in the mood for dots, since I used some form of dot several times on here.

Supplies: Stamps: Heart Prints, Polka Dot Basics, Men of Life Ink: Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate Paper: Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate, White Accessories, etc.: white satin, metal tag Thanks for stopping by. If you do the sketch, post a comment with your link!

CAS Anniversary Card

I made this card for my sister and BIL's anniversary. It was nice to make a card other than a holiday card! The only stamping is the design on the hearts and the sentiment on the inside. I used my Cuttlebug Heart embossing folder for the white mat and my circle and heart nestabilities to cut out the circles and hearts. I used a Martha Stewart lace border punch on the red and black layers. All pieces were then adhered to the red card base. It was pretty quick once I had the design in mind! Supplies: Paper - PaperTrey, DCWV; Stamps - Inkadinkado; Ink - Versafine Black Onyx; Misc - Cuttlebug, Embossing folder, Nestabilities
